Microsoft reference for this issue
In simple words, the issue is if you are running Virtual machine (documentation say server 2012 R2 but i experienced it with 2008 R2) in Hyper-V and if you are stupid/brave enough to turn off host machine while the VM is still running then what will happen
- provided: there is smart guy in the organisation who set up graceful shut down of VM in the event that host machine is turned off (Automatic stop action: shut down guest OS)
- then: although this smart guy made a good move but there is a bug in this setting -> the system will power cycle instead of clean shut down means the system (host machine) will shut down, restart, shut down again and restart.
Although, it may not seem a huge issue but if your Domain controllers are running virtually then every second counts, as the whole company network is dependent on that.
